When I look into the mirror is the image that I see the same image that you see when you look at me?
Do you see the dark circles permanently residing under my eyes? And if you do, do you know that they are from the countless nights to sleep I’ve cried?
Many say to me “smile”, not taking the time to notice that rarely I have since I was a child.
Look into my eyes, tell me what do you see? Because when I look, a misunderstood soul is what I see staring back at me.
Outspoken, courageous, and mean to a degree are all things I hear describing me. But introverted, unsure, and anxious is more like it from the inside that you can’t see.
Do you see me when you look at me? I often wonder if I see you, do you think that I do?
Self image is our own individual reality of who and how we are. We tend to be our own worst critics and judge ourselves harder than most.
